Recently, I was approached to work on a badge/identity concept for an upcoming US Summer Camp.
As some of you may be aware, over recent years I normally have a little side project in the run-up to Christmas, the Doodle Advent Calendar.
After spending a vast amount of my career freelancing within varying design agencies and studios, I soon realised there was a certain type of character that works within them.
Over the last few Christmas’s it has become tradition for me to do my Doodle Advent Calendar. Every day I’d post a new doodle in the build-up to the big day.
I’ve been doing it for around 5 years now, maybe even longer, but each year I would find it that little bit harder to come up with original ideas.
As another year draws to a close and the festive season kicks in, that familiar sheer panic and chaos ensues.
With the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows imminent, Paramount wanted to whip up excitement for the movie by sending key media influencers something to get them talking.
Is is coming up to that time of year again, when I try to spread Christmas cheer through my doodle advent calendar.
A few years ago I attempted to woo my girlfriend (& now wife) on our first Valentine's Day together by producing a comic for her based on our lives before we met.
It went down pretty well and so when we got married last year, I redrew it especially for our wedding reception and also blogged about it on here.
I am by no means a comic artist, but I did really enjoy the process of making the comic and decided to make another one, this time for my twin brother.
After publishing my previous post featuring a slightly new illustrative direction for me, I was over the moon with the positive feedback I received for it.
Personally I was really pleased with how it has developed and really wanted to try another composition, which leads me to this post.
